Diwali in Hillsboro, 2025
A FREE Celebration of Light, Food, Music and Dance
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The Town of Hillsboro hosts its first-ever Diwali Celebration, organized by the Anna Sudha Community Kitchens, on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hillsboro’s Historic Old Stone School.
Also known as the Festival of Lights, Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil and is celebrated in Indian and south Asian communities across the globe. Entry to the festival is free and proceeds benefit the work of Anna Sudha to feed and empower the Northern Virginia community.
Live music throughout the day, the Diwali Dazzle-Con Costume Extravaganza, dancing and singing competitions, fun family workshops including diya painting and Ganesha making, sessions for meditation and breathwork, and an array of authentic Indian foods including chaats, curries and sweets, along with arts & crafts vendors, food trucks and a variety of local wines and beers.
